Lake D'Arbonne is a 15,250-acre reservoir located in Union Parish, Louisiana, USA. It was created in 1963 by the construction of a dam on the Bayou D'Arbonne, a tributary of the Ouachita River. The lake is named after the D'Arbonne National Wildlife Refuge, which is situated on its eastern shore.

The lake is known for its excellent fishing opportunities, especially for crappie and bass. It also attracts water sports enthusiasts, including boaters, water skiers, and jet skiers. In addition, the lake offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, bird watching, and camping.

Historically, the area surrounding Lake D'Arbonne was inhabited by Native American tribes, including the Ouachita and Chickasaw. The first European explorers arrived in the area in the late 17th century, and the region was later settled by French, Spanish, and American colonists. During the 19th century, the area became known for its cotton plantations, and the lake was used for transportation and irrigation.

Today, Lake D'Arbonne is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including alligators, otters, deer, and various species of birds. Some interesting facts about the lake include that it has over 45 miles of shoreline, and it is managed by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
